What in the world is going to happen with conference affilliations?" (sports)

I have been following with interest the merry-go-round that is college conference affiliation. East Carolina University (my alma mater) has been on the outside looking in since the last round of changes. The current re-do could result in a seismic shift in the college football landscape. Those left out of this round could be left in a precarious position from a $$$standpoint.

I don't know what is going to happen. I know there are worried alumni in Big 12 land, and the Big East could see itself implode if some of its members jump ship to the Big 10. If you are in the SEC you gotta love your position. You don't need anybody, and everybody wants what you got. If you want to go to 16 teams, you got the ACC to raid, any member of which would jump at the opportunity to be in the premier football league in the country (except THE University of North Carolina, who is too superior academically to stoop to SEC levels. just ask them).

Hey SEC, if you guys are looking for a presence in North Carolina that would provide a natural rivalry to SC, would give you fertile recruiting exposure in the heart of the ACC, and would provide THE best game day football atmosphere of any school not already in the SEC, pop on up to Greenville and give me a call. I'll show you around. If you look hard at ECU, I'm sure you'll see we are a good fit. That's The Way I See It............What do you think?
